Another summer dress done. I used the bodice from the dress pattern in Amy Butler’s Little Stitches and added my own skirt. The fabric is from Pop Garden, by Heather Bailey, left over from a quilt I made my mother-in-law a while back. Such sunny, happy fabric for such a happy little girl.

Well, here they are, my first ever quilts. I think I may have a new obsession. Seriously, 2009 may be the year of the quilts. I am finding it extremely satisfying work.

Here is Cathy’s quilt, made from Heather Bailey’s Pop Garden line:

And the back:

The recipient with her new quilt:

My sister’s quilt is a stacked coins design. I knew that Ali liked the brown Trailing Blossoms fabric that I used on the back, so I chose the rest of the fabric from Amy Butler’s Midwest Modern line as well.

Peak of the back:

I didn’t get a good picture of Al with the quilt, but she really liked it.

Now, I’m working on one for my mom’s birthday. I got the quilt top done today, and I hope to quilt it tomorrow so I can bind it during the week.

Here’s the gift for my cousin’s wife that I mentioned earlier this week. It’s the Market Bag by Sandi Henderson, and the fabric is from Anna Maria Horner’s Drawing Room line. The interior is a light pink twill. I really love this bag. It’s nice and roomy and has a fantastic pocket – two actually, but I only did the interior pocket because I didn’t want to take away from the interesting print.

I’m not going to post my sis and mom’s gifts until they receive them, but here’s the quilt top for my mother-in-law’s present. This is my first experience with quilting, though it’s something I’ve wanted to get into for quite a while. So far, I’ve just sewn the quilt top together, but I’m a little nervous about the actual quilting process. I love the freshness of these fabrics. They’re all from Heather Bailey’s Pop Garden line. I’lll let you know how it comes out!
